Draft of an Anniversary Poem

Mar 2 2002

Each day the earth deeply, softly rolls
each night that moonlit wings move
over seasons, each round and solar
circle, slow, long, and smooth --

This is not time. This may be what Einstein
knew. There is the constant motion of the
world we live in -- but there is an inner time,
too. Life has heartbeat, sense, and memory
and these divide and keep a time more true.

Hmmm. Like syncopated rhyme/line breaks in second section. Not too bouncy.. but ending is a bit hokey.
