My Mom Likes Sting

Jan 16 2002

Mom sings with the Mormon Tablernacle Choir. She's an excellent soprano, well-versed in choral literature. She is not very familiar with the current landscape of popular and alternative music.

But Sting was at their rehearsal the other night; he's apparently performing at the upcoming Olympic ceremonies, and they're his backing vocals. She was impressed enough that she came home and asked to borrow a recording. I lent her "Ten Summoner's Tales". She likes it. My Mom likes Sting.

Sting apparently likes the choir, too. He asked when they were coming to England. Someone replied "When are you inviting us?" and he said, "well, I do have room to put you all up in my castle."
